Demolishing out-buildings of a monastery, Gyantse

Tibetans

Development in Tibet is big business, parts of the capital city
Lhasa resembles a building site, the epicentre of reconstruction
ordered from Beijing. On the surface all might look well, but the
signs of unrest and discomfort soon emerge from the landscape.
Ancient traditions continue, monks meditate inside the
temples, pilgrims prostrate round prayer circuits,
but the modernism of occupying China is always present.
